- Has been suspected in causing joint discomfort in some people.
- Some say that when they take it on an empty stomach, it will give them

- Some people that I know have been reporting sun sensitivity with this
drug; be sure to wear sunscreen while on it. Otherwise, you may get a bad

- Some people have said that it caused them dizziness and nausea. These
symptoms may be less severe if you take the daily dose at bedtime, if it was
prescribed only once a day. Also, temporary hearing loss. (Added Dec. 16,

- Zithromax (azithromycin)
- Azithromycin capsules should be given at least 1 hour before or 2
hours after a meal. Azithromycin capsules should not be mixed with or taken
with food.
- Azithromycin for oral suspension (single dose 1 g packet) can be
taken with or without food after constitution. Not for pediatric use.
- Azithromycin tablets may be taken without regard to food.
However, increased tolerability has been observed when tablets are taken
with food.
- Caution should be used in people with liver problems.
- Taking this drug, if you also take theophylline, may increase
theophylline levels.
